Proceed to St. Peter’s Primacy in the shore of Sea of Galilee. You will arrive in Tiberias and continue to Jordan River for renewing your baptismal vows. According to tradition, the fire that rained down from the sky amid a struggle between the Prophet Elijah and the Baal prophets had occurred in this exact location. Continue to Caesarea, built by Herod the Great and once the seat of Roman rule. It was here that Pontius Pilate imprisoned Peter and the first pagan, Cornelius, was converted to Christianity. About 1000 years ago, the Crusaders rebuilt and fortified part of the city. Pass by to Jaffa, one of the oldest biblical cities in the world and an important seaport since antiquity. It was from here that Jonah embarked for Tarshish and was swallowed by a great whale. Day 7.
Day 7 (Jerusalem –Mt Olives – Mt Zion – Ein Karem)

Ascend the Judean Mountains and upon arriving in Jerusalem stop at the Mt. of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. This is an important site in both the Jewish and Christian traditions. The mountain has served as a burial ground for the Jewish People for 3,000 years, and among the 150,000 graves, there are the tombs of the prophets Haggai, Zachariah and Malachi, as well as many other notable rabbinical figures. The Mount of Olives is mentioned frequently in the New Testament as the place where Jesus stood when he wept over Jerusalem. Visit the Ascension Chapel. Proceed to the Church of Pater Noster to witness the “Lord Prayer”. Proceed to the Church of Dominus Flevit where God wept over the Palm Sunday road to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane to see the Rock of Agony, the place where Jesus prayed before the Roman soldiers came for Him. Stop at Mt Zion to visit King David’s Tomb and Cenacle-the Upper Room (Room of the Last Supper). After Jesus ascended into heaven, the apostles gathered in the “Upper Room” to pray together (Acts 1:13). The culmination of their 9-day vigil was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Proceed to Bethlehem for dinner and overnight. Then head to Caiphas’ House at Peter in Gallicantu. Here is the site of Jesus’ trial by the High Priests and where Peter denied Jesus three times just as Jesus prophesized. On this site is a 2nd Temple staircase that Jesus could have walked down on the way to the Garden of Gethsemane.

Meals: Breakfast Lunch Dinner

Day 8.
Day 8 (Jerusalem)

Enter through Saint Stephens’s gate and arrive at the Pools of Bethesda. The site dates back to the 2nd century BCE and it was here that Jesus cured a sick man. According to an ancient tradition, Bethesda is also where Jesus’ maternal grandparents, Anne and Joachim, lived — and where his mother Mary was born. The Church of St Anne, built around 1140, stands nearby. Visit the last remaining segment from the ancient walls that surrounded the Second Temple, The Western Wall, a symbol of Jewish yearning for their ancestral and spiritual homeland. Enter the gates of the old city and walk the Via Dolorosa and go through the Station of the Cross and end with a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. This is in fact, a complex of various chapels built on what was called the Hill of Golgotha. Visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem which is one of the oldest continuously operating churches in the world. The church is built over the cave that tradition marks as the birthplace of Jesus. After walking through the small entrance to the church known as the Door of Humility and following the pathways past the wall mosaics that date back a millennium, find yourself at the Grotto of the Nativity, the spot that has been honored as the place where Christ was born. Proceed to the Shepherd’s Field and Grotto. According to tradition this is where local Jewish Shepherds were brought tidings of joy from an angel that told them of the birth of Jesus.
